During these small group sessions, we will explore the "tasks of mourning"—work everyone needs to do in order to heal after suffering a loss. The free six-week series will be led by a Roper Hospice chaplin with support of a medical social worker. Registration is required; to register, visit rs.com/advantage or call (843) 402-CARE (2273). ONGOING VIRGINIA MEEKS LEGAL CLINIC An illness comes with a lot of worries— your legal affairs should not be one of them. Roper St. Francis Healthcare, with assistance from the Charleston School of Law, is offering patients and their spouses a free legal clinic. Attorneys will explain and assist you if you choose to execute: Health Care Powers of Attorney and Living Wills. Clinics are ongoing and held at either Roper Hospital or the Roper St. Francis Cancer Center on the Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital Campus. To see if you qualify for the clinic, call (843) 402-CARE (2273). CANCER CLASSES AND SUPPORT GROUPS We offer a variety of classes and support groups for both cancer fighters and survivors. Classes include nutrition, cooking, massage, and more. Support groups are offered for breast, bladder, and neurological cancers. To find a class or support group visit rs.com/cancer-classes. LOSE WEIGHT Take the first step toward becoming a healthier you by attending one of our free in-person or online Bariatric and Metabolic Services program's weight loss surgery information sessions. In-person sessions are held the first and third Thursdays of each month from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Mall Classrooms. Online sessions are available anytime by visiting rs.com/bariatricinfosession. DEPRESSION STUDY Are you feeling sad, unmotivated, and tired? Have you been diagnosed and treated for depression in the past and these feelings have come back? If you are 18 to 75 years old and depressed, you may benefit from a program at the Roper St. Francis Research and Innovation Center. To learn if you are eligible for an evaluation, call (843) 724-2945. FREE MEMORY SCREEN Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with a memory problem? The Roper St. Francis Research and Innovation Center is currently screening patients ages 55 to 85 who are experiencing memory loss and are interested in participating in a medication trial.
