ONGOING LEGAL CLINIC An illness comes with a lot of worries—your legal affairs should not be one of them. Roper St. Francis, with assistance from the Charleston School of Law, is offering patients and their spouses a free legal clinic. Attorneys will explain and assist you with, if you choose to execute: Health Care Powers of Attorney and Living Wills. Clinics are ongoing and held at either Roper Hospital or the Roper St. Francis Cancer Center on the Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital Campus. In-person sessions are held two Thursdays a month at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital's Mall Classroom (5:30-7:30 p.m.). FREE MEMORY SCREEN Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with a memory problem? The Roper St. Francis Alzheimer's Research Center is currently screening patients between the ages of 55 and 85 who are experiencing memory loss and are interested in participating in a medication trial. To learn more, call (843) 724-2302. DEPRESSION STUDY Are you feeling sad, unmotivated, and tired? Have you been diagnosed and treated for depression in the past and these feelings have come back? If you are 18 to 75 years old and depressed, you may benefit from a program at the Roper St. Francis Research and Innovation Center. To learn if you are eligible for an evaluation, call (843) 724-2945. FREE MEMORY SCREEN We offer a variety of classes and support groups for both cancer fighters and survivors. Classes include nutrition, cooking, massage, and more. Support groups are offered for breast, bladder, and neurological cancers.
