30 { summer 2018 } h o u s e c a l l s WHAT'S YOUR PERFECT SUMMER SPORT? The stats and studies are in agreement: Weaving physical activity into your day is a sure-fire way to lengthen your lifespan. But that doesn't have to look like trucking it on the treadmill and pumping iron in the weight room—especially during summer. Indeed, with days at their longest and temps at their warmest, now's the perfect time to try your hand at a new sport. Follow this flow chart to find the fun-filled activity that's calling your name. We hear you! Now describe your current exercise regime. I prefer to be alone if/when I'm sweating. Exercise is my "me time." I stay active, but keep it simple with cardio and light weight training. I'm an athlete. I love sweating and am always on the go. The more, the merrier! Getting active is more fun when I can socialize my way through it. Where's the instructor?! I do best when I'm guided through a workout. Would you consider yourself an exercise EXTROVERT or INTROVERT? Would you consider yourself a beach bum? Do you currently have an exercise routine? Yep! Duh. I may live in the Lowcountry, but I really can't stand the sand. An injury, chronic condition, or busy schedule has kept me sedentary. I'm starting from scratch.
